Renovation of historic courtroom in the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse built in 1899. The project involved reconstruction of the third-floor courtroom and renovation of the judges’ chambers, clerk’s room and two adjoining conference rooms. Among the many restored historic elements of the courtroom are raised-panel doors and jambs and floor-to-ceiling raised panel walls rising 27 feet to a coffered wood panel ceiling, all constructed in select quartersawn white oak. Intricately carved decorative accents and trim are prominent © Charles G. Young, Interactive Design Architects throughout the courtroom.
